Grace before the game
A person’s dignity is never tied to a win, a loss, or a level of experience. Grace begins with a generous welcome and continues in the way we speak, listen, and respond when a session becomes difficult.
Our approach is practical rather than performative. Members are invited to ask questions, listen without interruption, and make decisions at a pace that protects their wellbeing. Every gathering is built around clear expectations, considerate hosts, and room for newcomers to learn.
People, not pots
Cards give us a reason to gather; people give the gathering meaning. We value conversation, friendship, patience, and mutual care above competition or financial outcomes.
We believe a healthy club is measured not by the size of a pot or the length of a guest list, but by whether people leave feeling respected, informed, and connected. That standard guides our teaching, events, partnerships, and everyday hospitality.
Play with purpose
A proactive player arrives with a plan. That includes time boundaries, an affordable budget, a clear understanding of the rules, and the confidence to stop at the planned moment.
No member is expected to prove anything through money or risk. Our hosts can explain a session format, introduce you to other attendees, or help you find appropriate independent support.
Honesty builds trust
Good play depends on transparent rules and truthful communication. We expect fair dealing, accurate explanations, and the courage to name a concern before it becomes a conflict.
Before a game begins, take time to understand the format and ask about anything that is unclear. A respectful table makes space for questions without embarrassment.
Learning is lifelong
Strategy can be studied, judgement can mature, and habits can change. Classes and discussions give beginners and established players the same permission to remain curious.
Sunday classes meet at 12:00 noon. They offer room to consider practical skills, club values, and questions that members bring from lived experience.
Community carries us
No one has to navigate uncertainty alone. Our meetings make space for practical advice, quiet encouragement, and friendships that extend beyond a card table.
Sunday services at 6:00 PM and 11:00 PM and Midweek Study & Player Meeting at 7:30 PM on Wednesday and Friday create regular opportunities to gather.
Limits are strength
Choosing a limit is an act of confidence, not embarrassment. We normalize breaks, stopping early, declining a game, and asking for support whenever play stops feeling healthy.
Keep essential bills and savings separate from entertainment spending. If you have concerns about your play, you can speak with a host or seek independent support.
Welcome is active
Hospitality is more than an open door. It means noticing the new arrival, making language accessible, explaining customs, and ensuring every person can take part without pressure.
